Codecademy

If you haven't already heard of Codecademy then, I guess, you have now.

Codecademy is a website that aims to introduce people to programming through a light-hearted series of interactive lessons and projects. The site gets you writing code from the get-go using a browser based source code editor and a lot of encouragement.

Over the past week I've made my way through through their introductory courses to HTML, CSS, jQuery and JavaScript. While I was initially alarmed that it would require three or more languages to develop web apps, I soon found that it made sense: using them all together is the easiest way to make some truly remarkable things.

After completing the basic courses I found the Animate Your Name project. For some reason, this really spoke to me and I decided that I would try to master the secrets behind this mysterious art. I intend to submit some sort of creation each week and (hopefully) see some improvement.
